Nendaz Trail

On the 28th of August 2021 the eighth edition of the Nendaz Trail is taking place.
The Nendaz Trail offers runners and walkers three courses, of 16 km, 30 km and 70 km, all departing from Haute-Nendaz. This range or routes allows runners of different levels to participate. The trail passes through beautiful landscapes rich in natural diversity and panoramic views.

The courses

AdoTrail and discovery course - 16 km

The perfect course to discover trail running surrounded by breathtaking scenery between forests and clearings.

Positive elevation gain : 840 m / Negative elevation gain : 840 m

Departure time for the Discovery Course : 09h00

Departure time for the AdoTrail (12-17 yrs) : 09h15

To see on the way  : the mountain pastures of Balavaux and their hundred-year-old larch trees among which some are the biggest in Europe

Short course - 30 km

A course of intermediate difficulty on forest paths, through mountain pastures and along a bisse.

Positive elevation gain: 1890 m / Negative elevation gain: 1890 m

Departure time : 08h30

Highest point : Basso d’Alou (2337 m)

To see on the way : Balavaux and its hundred-year-old Larch trees among which some are the biggest in Europe, Basso d’Alou, the mountain pastures of Siviez, Tortin and Novelly, Planchouet and its famous 24 hairpin bends", the bisse de Saxon

Long course - 70 km

An extraordinary route, technical and demanding, between forest paths, mountain pastures and even high altitude mountain trail running with the crossing of a large scree (rock field)

Positive elevation gain: 3590 m / Negative elevation gain: 3590 m

Departure time: 05h00

Highest point : Col de Pra fleuri (2987 m)

To see on the way : the Dent de Nendaz, Planchouet and its famous "24 hairpin bends", Cleuson lake, Grand Désert lake, the Prafleuri mountain pass

Permanent signposting

The 30 et 70 km courses have been permanently signposted. It is, therefore, possible to follow these courses in both "walking mode" or "training mode" during the summer months over one or several days, taking advantage of the mountain cabins along the way.
