Do you know the Hérens breed of cattle ? Small but sturdy, black in colour with red highlights, we are emblematic of the Valais, just like the Matterhorn or the Saint-Bernard dog. But we are much more easy to approach - I'd bet my bell that you've already spotted me on your walks in the Alps. Here at least, you can't miss me. In the mid and high-mountain pastures of Nendaz, we are about 800 cows each year to enjoy the summer grazing here.
